Why Your Offer Didn’t Track (Freecash, Swagbucks, AdGem and Any Offerwall)
An offer that “didn’t track” means the platform never received confirmation from the advertiser that you completed the required action. The most common causes are ad blockers and VPNs, installing the app outside the offer link or having it installed already, missing a step or a time limit, using the wrong device or country, and offers that expired or broke. You can often fix it with screenshots and a clear support message, but not always. Our pick for people who want a cleaner earning experience is GenZJob, which shows several offerwall partners in one place and pays Cash to PayPal (18+, no earnings guaranteed).
How offer tracking actually works
To understand why an offer fails to track, it helps to know what is happening behind the screen. When you tap an offer in an app or website, you are sent through a tracking link that carries a unique identifier for you and for the offer. The advertiser, or an offerwall network such as AdGem, ayeT Studios, CPX Research or PubScale, watches for the action you are supposed to complete: an install, a level reached, a form submitted or a survey finished.
When the action is recorded against your identifier, the network sends a message called a postback to the app that showed you the offer, saying “this user completed this offer, pay them this much”. Only then does the app credit your balance. Every step in that chain can break, and when it does, nothing is credited. (We cover the model in more detail in what an offerwall is.)
That is why “I did the task” and “the platform saw the task” are different things. Your job is to make sure the second one is true, and to keep evidence in case it is not.
The 10 most common reasons offers don’t track
| Cause | Why it breaks tracking | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Ad blocker or tracking blocker | Blocks the tracking parameters that identify you; reviewers of one rewards platform say ad blockers can break the parameters used to track conversions | Disable blockers and privacy extensions for the session |
| VPN or proxy | A mismatched location can look like fraud or break attribution | Turn it off before you start the offer |
| The app was already installed | Most install offers need a new install attributed to the tracking link | Choose a different offer; do not uninstall and reinstall unless the terms allow it |
| Installed from the app store, not the offer link | The advertiser never saw the click from the offer | Always start from the offer button, then follow the store link |
| A missed step or requirement | Level, purchase, tutorial or registration not completed in the stated time | Re-read the offer rules and check each step |
| Time limit passed | Many milestones must be reached within days | Note the deadline when you start |
| Wrong country, device or version | Offers are targeted by location and device type | Use the device and region the offer states |
| The offer expired or was paused | Advertisers cap budgets or stop campaigns | Check reviews or the offer status; avoid offers with no recent completions |
| Privacy settings on the phone | Limiting ad tracking can prevent attribution on some offers | Check the offer’s requirements about tracking permissions |
| Advertiser rejected or reversed it | The advertiser decided you did not qualify, or the conversion was reversed | Ask support for the stated reason |
Most of these are in your control, which is the good news. The bad news is that some are not, which is why you should keep screenshots from the start.
Before you start any offer: a 60-second checklist
- Read the whole description, including required level, time limit, country and any purchase.
- Turn off ad blockers, privacy extensions and VPNs for the duration.
- Check that the app is not installed if it is an install offer.
- Start from the offer button and follow its link, do not search the app store yourself.
- Take a screenshot of the offer page with its reward and rules.
- Do the steps in order, and screenshot progress at each milestone.
- Note the date and time you started and the deadline.
What to do when it did not track
- Wait the stated window. Many offers can take hours or days to confirm, and game milestones can take much longer.
- Check the offer history for a status such as pending, rejected or credited.
- Gather evidence: screenshots of the offer page, the steps and the in-game progress, with dates.
- Contact the platform where you tapped the offer (not the advertiser). Include the offer name, date, steps and screenshots in one message.
- Ask a specific question: “Can you confirm the offer status and, if it did not track, submit a missing reward request?”
- Do not repeat the offer until you have an answer, because repeating it can create duplicate-attempt flags.
- Keep records of replies in case you need to escalate.
Platforms differ. Some can submit a missing-reward request to the offerwall network, which then asks the advertiser to check. If the advertiser says you did not qualify, the platform generally cannot override it.
What this looks like on popular platforms
The causes above are the same everywhere, but the details differ:
- Freecash: reviewers list tracking problems and broken or expired offers among the cons and note that ad blockers can interfere. See our guides on Freecash not paying and pending withdrawals.
- Swagbucks: a missing-points process exists for offers that did not credit; reviews also describe slow customer service, so keep evidence. See Swagbucks not paying out.
- KashKick: game offers can stay pending for 14–31 days and require you to keep the install and reach milestones in that period. See KashKick pending offers.
- GenZJob: offers come from several offerwall partners inside the Earn tab. If one does not credit, contact support with screenshots; we cannot override an advertiser’s decision, but we can help check what happened.
How to avoid wasted effort
- Prefer short offers while you learn. A five-minute task teaches you how tracking works for far less risk than a ten-hour milestone.
- Check recent completion signals. An offer nobody has finished recently may be broken or capped.
- Avoid offers that need unusual permissions or personal data you are not comfortable sharing.
- Track your time. If an offer needs hours for a few dollars, decide in advance when you will stop.
- Keep one account and one device for earning, because switching devices can break attribution and trigger fraud checks.
- Be honest about expectations. Independent guides put these apps at about $1–$3 per hour at best, so a failed offer is a real loss of time.
Five real-world tracking scenarios and the fix for each
“I installed the game and reached level 15, nothing credited.” Most game offers need you to hit the level inside a time window and to have installed through the offer link. Check the offer text for the exact level and deadline, then look at the history for “pending”. If it is pending, wait; if there is no entry at all, tracking never started, so collect screenshots and submit a missing-reward request.
“I used my usual browser with extensions.” Privacy extensions and ad blockers are the single most common reason a click never registers. Open the offer in a clean window or another browser with extensions off and start again, but only if the offer terms allow a retry.
“I was on Wi-Fi with a VPN for work.” A VPN can change your apparent country between the click and the install, which looks like fraud to an attribution system. Turn it off, restart the app and begin from the offer button.
“I already had the app on my phone years ago.” Many install offers only pay new users. If the advertiser sees an existing device identifier, it will reject the conversion. There is no fix for that, so choose a different offer.
“The survey ended and I got a thank-you page but no points.” Surveys can report completion late or disqualify you at the end for quality checks. Wait the stated window and check the status. Repeated, very fast answers can also lead to disqualification.
The message that gets a missing-reward request taken seriously
Support teams handle many vague complaints, so a precise message stands out. Use this structure:
- Offer name and reward amount exactly as shown.
- Date and time you started and finished.
- Device and browser or app version.
- What you did, step by step, in two or three lines.
- What you already checked: blockers off, no VPN, started from the offer link.
- Screenshots of the offer page, progress and any confirmation screen.
- A clear request: “Please submit a missing reward request for this offer and tell me the outcome.”
| Offer type | Reasonable wait |
|---|---|
| Short survey or sign-up | 1–3 days |
| App install and open | 1–3 days |
| Game level or milestone | The offer’s stated pending window (days to weeks) |
| Shopping purchase | Until the merchant’s return window closes, often several weeks |

Play nowFrequently asked questions
Why did my offer not track?
The most common reasons are an ad blocker or VPN, installing outside the offer link or already having the app, a missed step or time limit, the wrong country or device, or an expired offer. Check the offer status and contact the platform with screenshots.
How long does an offer take to credit?
It varies from minutes for simple actions to days or weeks for game milestones. Check the offer’s stated confirmation time.
Can I get credited for an offer that did not track?
Sometimes. Platforms can submit a missing-reward request to the offerwall network, but the advertiser decides. Screenshots and exact dates improve your chances.
Do ad blockers really break offers?
Reviewers of one rewards platform say ad blockers can break the tracking parameters used to attribute conversions, so disable them while doing offers.
Should I contact the advertiser or the app?
Contact the app or website where you tapped the offer. It has the tracking record and can raise a missing-reward request.
Which platform is easier to earn on?
We think GenZJob is the best fit if you want several offerwalls, a clear Cash balance and a PayPal cash-out with fees shown first, but no app can guarantee earnings.
How do I cash out from GenZJob?
Add your PayPal email on the Payout page once your Cash balance reaches the minimum shown there. You see any fee and the amount you receive before you confirm. Requests are reviewed before payment, and identity verification may be required.
What is the minimum age for GenZJob?
You must be at least 14 to use GenZJob. Games, giveaways and cash-outs are for ages 18 and up.
