What Is an Offerwall? How Offerwalls Work (and Whether They’re Worth Your Time)
An offerwall is a list of tasks inside an app or website, such as installing an app, reaching a level in a game or finishing a survey, that pays you a reward when you complete one. Advertisers fund the offers and pay the app that hosts the wall when you finish an action, and the app shares part of that with you. AdGem is one of the networks that supplies offerwalls to apps. Offerwalls can pay real rewards, but only for completed, verified actions, which is why they sometimes “don’t track” and why earnings are modest.
How an offerwall works, step by step
- An advertiser (a game studio, app or survey company) wants new, engaged users and agrees to pay when a user completes a specific action: install, reach a level, sign up or finish a survey.
- An offerwall network (such as AdGem) lists those offers and tracks completions.
- An app or website (the publisher) shows the offerwall to its users. GenZJob is one such app.
- You pick an offer and complete it. The network confirms the action and tells the publisher with a message called a postback.
- The publisher pays you part of what the advertiser paid, as Cash, points or coins.
Advertisers generally pay per completed action instead of per view, which is why you only get rewarded when the action is confirmed.
Who pays whom
| Who | Pays | Gets |
|---|---|---|
| Advertiser | A fee for each completed action | Engaged users |
| Offerwall network (for example AdGem) | A share to the app that hosts the wall | A cut for matching offers and tracking completions |
| App or site (for example GenZJob) | A reward to you | Revenue from offers completed by its users |
| You | Your time and attention | A reward for each verified completion |
What AdGem is, and is it legit?
AdGem is an offerwall provider: a company that supplies offers and the technology to track completions and notify apps. Its offerwall appears inside many different apps. We use AdGem and other offerwall partners in GenZJob, so we are not neutral here.
The useful way to think about “is it legit” is to separate two things. AdGem supplies and tracks offers; the app you use decides what it pays you, when and how. If a reward is missing, the app’s rules and support are what matter. We could not find an independent review that verifies AdGem’s payout reliability, so we will not make claims beyond that. For any offerwall, check how the app that hosts it handles cash-outs.
Why offers sometimes “don’t track”
- You already had the app installed, or you installed it outside the offer link.
- A VPN, ad blocker or privacy setting blocked the tracking link.
- You did not finish every step (for example, reaching a specific level within a time limit).
- The advertiser reversed or rejected the conversion after checking it.
- Pending time: some offers take days or weeks to confirm, especially game milestones.
When an offer does not track, contact the app’s support with screenshots of what you completed. That is the same on every platform, from Freecash to GenZJob.
Are offerwalls worth it?
They can be, if you pick offers with short, clear steps and avoid anything that needs a credit card or a subscription you might forget to cancel. Many offers pay nothing for effort that falls short of the milestone, and survey offers often screen you out, so averages are low.
On GenZJob, offerwall offers pay Cash (withdrawable to PayPal) and Bonus Cash (play-only). See our guides to apps that pay you to play games and apps that pay to PayPal.
Types of offers you will see
| Offer type | What you do | Typical catch |
|---|---|---|
| Install and open | Install an app and open it | Small reward; must be a new install |
| Level or milestone | Reach a level in a game within a time limit | Pays more, but many people never finish it |
| Survey | Answer questions | You can be screened out with little or no reward |
| Sign-up or free trial | Create an account or start a trial | May require payment details; cancel in time |
| Daily or bonus tasks | Quick actions | Small, but easy to do consistently |
How to pick better offers
- Read the full description and every requirement before you tap Start.
- Prefer offers with a clear, short path to the reward.
- Skip offers that need a credit card or a paid subscription.
- Check the reward against the time it takes, and ignore anything that does not seem worth it.
- Follow the steps in order, from the offerwall, and keep screenshots.
Offerwall myths
- “Offerwalls are always scams.” They are a standard advertising format used by many legitimate apps. Whether you get paid depends on the app and the offer.
- “Higher reward means better.” Big rewards usually have harder requirements or longer pending times.
- “The offerwall pays me.” The app that hosts the wall pays you. The offerwall network supplies and tracks the offers.
- “You can earn a full-time income.” Realistic earnings are small.
A 5-point check for any rewards app
- Never pay to earn. A legitimate rewards app does not ask you to deposit money to unlock earnings.
- Find the minimum cash-out and the fee first. If you cannot see them before you start, be cautious.
- Read the terms. Look for ID checks, holds, clawbacks (rewards reversed if an advertiser cancels), expiry of points and age limits.
- Read recent, mixed reviews, not only the top ratings, and see how the company replies to complaints.
- Protect your accounts. Use the official app or site, never share passwords or verification codes, and ignore anyone promising guaranteed income.
How we researched this (and a disclosure)
Disclosure: GenZJob is our own app, so we are not a neutral reviewer. For GenZJob we only state facts we can verify from our own product and Terms. For AdGem and other offerwall networks we rely on public pages and published third-party reviews, and we note where sources disagree instead of picking a number. We have not tested AdGem and other offerwall networks’s payouts ourselves. Names and trademarks belong to their owners and are not affiliated with GenZJob. Terms, minimums and availability change often, so confirm current details in the app before you spend time on offers.
